The mess it makes February 18, 2019 10:00

This is the state of my studio after all that cutting and snipping. I think I have some clearing up to do before the next piece of work!

Collage in Progress February 11, 2019 20:25

Here’s a picture of the latest collage and the next couple of posts will show the progress I’m making with it. It’s very very slow. It’s like making a jigsaw puzzle!

New Glass Vase January 26, 2019 00:00

I spent the middle part of my creative career making sandblasted glass vases. Hand cutting stencils and taking them to a local factory to be sandblasted in their machine - always coming home with less that I went with due to breakages! Very annoying.

I’ve recently been looking at my older work as I had to make a presentation for a job, and I’m interested in designing and making a new collection of glass vases. Just a limited amount for a limited time.

Heres the first one the new collection. It’s under my products heading.

Collage January 25, 2019 00:00

I love making these collages. Here’s a finished image

New Beach Huts Paper Cut January 24, 2019 00:00

New Lighthouse Paper Cut January 22, 2019 09:51

Surface Design December 14, 2018 11:59

I’ve recently had to make a presentation of my work and its interesting looking back to see what I’ve done over the years. It’s a useful excercise as it helps to see the direction that my work has taken. I’ve always thought I may be a bit too flighty as I’ve chosen not to stick to just one medium over my career, but it’s made me realise that I am a surface designer. It doesn’t actually matter what the surface is or the process that I choose as it’s the design work that’s my signature.

Chopping Boards December 13, 2018 15:35

Ive used my chopping boards as decoration in my kitchen. And, what’s more, they make perfect place mats for my wooden table!

Cut out motifs December 11, 2018 21:00

I enjoy working with my hands and digitally and this image is derived from one of my collages and then recoloured on my computer. I do like the nice sharp lines and the flat colour!

Same composition November 30, 2018 00:00

This is a different area from the same composition

Collage November 29, 2018 11:00

I just love cutting and sticking paper to make interesting compositions with colour and shape. The paper I’m using is a mixture of pre coloured and screenprinted in hand cut and machine cut shapes.

In this piece I’ve decided to work with a very limited colour palette. I’m struggling to contain myself but I’m determined to only use tones and shades of about 5 colours!

Celf at Xmas November 28, 2018 16:07

Its now 2 days since our open house event and I’m still in recovery!! It was sooo busy and it was amazing to have so much support from our local community. A huge thank you to all the artists for their work, DNA for the live harp and fiddle music, The Ale House for the bar, the Gluten-Free Baking Company for the cakes and to everyone who came.

Here are some images from the event
